Congratulations!

You made it! Another year and another round of FCAT testing done. We hope you make a speedy recovery. Take a moment to give yourselves and your fellow teachers a big pat on the back. We know you’ve worked hard to make sure your students did their best on these tests and we know that your work doesn’t end with the FCAT tests. Keep up the great work!

Custom scatterplot graphs

A great tool that doesn’t get used enough in SnapShot is the ability to make custom scatterplot graphs. Custom scatterplot graphs allow you to compare two test items. In the example below we'll be using Math SSS vs. Science SSS for 2006 grades 5, 8 and 11.

1. Click “Scatterplot Graphs”.
2. Under Test Selector, and the X Axis Test, click on the “Select Test” drop down menu and select “Scale Score” under FCAT Math SSS.
3. Click on the “Select Test Period” drop down menu
4. Select “Spring 2006 Grade 3-10”
5. Under Y Axis Test, click on the “Select Test” drop down menu and select “Scale Score” under FCAT SSS Science
6. Click on the “Select Test Period” drop down menu and select “Spring 2006 Grade 3-10”
7. Click “Create Scatterplot Graph”

Ode to Spring Break

Oh Spring Break, how I love you.

One whole week of nothing to do;

No school, waking up late in the morn,

No meetings, no marking, why can’t you be the norm?

Spring Break, Spring Break, you come with much joy and time to play;

Seriously, I’m thinking of spending my time off sleeping all day.

But Spring Break you make me shed many a tear.

Why can’t you happen more than once a year?

Spring is a time of renewal

More than 80% of SnapShot schools have a renewal coming up around the critical time when FCAT data is released. SnapShot doesn't want there to be any interruption in service to schools that use the tool during that time. As a special service, and to address customer demand, SnapShot is working with numerous schools to arrange their renewal invoicing to take place before the end of this fiscal year.
